Bra Basics : Finding the Right Fit

Finding the right bra is important for your well-being and confidence — a well-fitting bra will support your breasts, help clothing look and feel better, and may even prevent neck, shoulder, and back discomfort. No matter your budget, it is possible to find the perfect fit for your body. So, let’s get started!

The Band

Step 1
Your bra band should sit straight (parallel to the cups). Your new bra sits perfectly if you can close it on the widest hook and fit two fingers between your band and your back. The band shouldn’t dig in your back but also can’t be too loose.

The cup

Step 2
Your breasts should fill your cups without the cups gaping in or your breasts spilling over the cups. It helps to lift your breasts and position them in the cups after you put on your bra.

The Underwire

Step 3
The underwire should sit against your body but should not cut into your skin. If your underwire does not sit against your body, your cups are probably too small..


The hook

Step 4
The trick is to make sure your bra fits when it’s on the loosest hooks in the back. That way, when the band does stretch out, you can always tighten it and get more use out of your bra.
